TrashMe App Reviews

48 add

Saved the day!

I had a problem with Mail because of a stupid add on ("unreadmail") that would cause Mail to get stuck, I tried deleting the app but that made Mail unopenable! Using this app I was able to find several associated files (that spotlite couldnt find) and delete them! Take THAT buggy app! Success!! Best $7 Ive spent on my computer!

TrashMe

Trash Me, Trashed Me!! It didnt work right. I tried to delete 3 apps a few hours after I bought. On all 3, TrashMe messaged it was unable to do so. I had to delete apps the usual way.

Dont Be Fooled by false reviews

Does not work every time you try and delete any app it has an error and the app still remains … Pure snake oil does nothing … review will remail until fixed...

wonderfully executed

Love this app and use it a lot!

Orphans

I miss the "Orphans" tool from the pre-App Store version of TrashMe. Which would find leftover files from apps that had already been removed. Other than that I really like it. Nice UI, Easy to Use, and very Snappy.

Waste

This app is a waste of money

Useless

For some reason it is able to delete all the files related to apps (anything not in the applications folder) but not the apps from the applications folder itself.

Horrible

This app does not want to work under lion. So i got AppZap, problem solved.

wish I could get my money back

did not uninstall any of the apps that I wanted to, which is why I bought the app, dont waste your money.

Works excellently once add-on app is downloaded from support site

For those who complain about being unable to delete files with this uninstaller (ironic, I know), realize that this is a limitation of any app in the Mac App Store. Apple forbids any app from making changes to files outside of its designated document folder in order to prevent viruses and malware from being installed on the Mac. To bypass this limitation, you simply have to download a FREE app from the developers website which restores its full capability. This is the only way to sell ones apps in the Mac App store without crippling them or having to sell a second copy from the developers site. BBEdit, for example, has to sell a crippled version of BBEdit on the Mac App Store in order to meet the Mac App Store requirements for security, while it sells a full version on its site. Unfortunately, this is just the way of doing things since user security from malware has been emphasized. Once the full features of the app are restored, TrashMe works wonderfully to uninstall applications and their related files. You can choose which files to remove. It also has additional features such as removing junk files from the hard drive. It is much more full featured than the classic free app, AppCleaner, which is not sold in the MacApp store because it doesnt conform to the security limitations. TrashMe is well worth its price. Thank you, TrashMe developer, Jean-Baptiste!

My favorite application remover

It does a perfect job. However, due to Apple restrictions, TrashMe 2 is unable to delete files and applications that require account’s password. The nice thing is that the developers of this application support their app very well, so they provided a downloadable add-on to bypass this limitation. Really good application and excellent level of support.

Awesome app!

This app works great for me. Note, its crucial to download the add-on for this app to work properly but thats an issue with Apple not with this app. Thanks!

it works

Just cleanly eliminated 3GB of unused apps with TrashMe - although you must download the addon to make it work with everything. I simply googled "trashme add-on" to find and install the add-on. Good for the price, saves a lot of time!

Get the add-on

Go to the developers website and get the add-on; that makes this app all worth it. It asks for your root pw once per batch delete and everything works great! Kudos to Jean-Baptiste for providing an easy work-around to Apples restrictions!

Get the plugin and it works Great!

Just installed this with the plug-in and delted 5 programs. 1. start this app 2. You drag the icon you want to delete to this app. 3. it does a quick scan and shows you all of the folders and files associated with that app (takes a couple seconds at the most) 4. you have the option to delete some files/folders or all of them Does exactly what it says but you need to go to their site and download the add-on. Apple has everything sand boxed so the app will not be fully functional right out of the box.

Misleading

This app will remove all the data form other applications and unistall them, but if you are unable to delete a file in the trash, you will also be unable to in this, so a waste of money for me not worth the high price.

Trash falls out

Well. . . This app does not get all the Trash. It leaves alot behind. What else is there to say? It is simple to use. A+ there.

Did the job

I had downloaded an app from the net. I was not able to uninstall it using the regular method. This app did the job.

Search for orphaned files missing

The advertised features of this app is that it could *search* for *orphaned* *files*. If that’s what you want then save your money. It is not available in the current version.

Doesn’t do any better than Trash Can

The app doesn’t accomplish anything more than dragging to trash can….if permission issues, this app is worthless. I recommend trying another program or living with the app you are trying to delete.
