Updated (again) from one star review, then down from 4 stars.
I previously had this app rated as a 1 star app. I gave it that rating right around an OS and App Store transition that made it a weak application for a while. Its still not perfect, and you MUST download and install the helper application from their site in order for it to be a 4 star application. Without the helper application, Trashme is still about a 2 star app. With the helper application--and youll see notes on how to install the helper inside the application--it becomes a pretty good application. Im giving it four stars instead of five because the need for the helper application, and because the interface could be a touch cleaner, although its pretty good.
Update: I recently used this app to remove a bunch of different applications. Boy was that a mistake. I found out it’s matching logic is very relaxed and so deleting a _version_ of something resulted in removal of the more current version’s Application Support files, preferences, plists, etc. For example I deleted an older version of Numbers, and it wiped out the new version’s files. This, coupled with the fact that Mac Trash doesn’t let you put back multiple files at a time and it doesn’t realize when circular dependencies exist within it, makes for a very sticky situation thanks to Trash Me.
